The new product line will need to launch a “a remarkable, almost previously unseen level of marketing” targeted towards the investor that cares about their anti-stakeholder approach, but that may not be enough, according to FUSE Research managing partner Neil Bathon, who noted that Vanguard, State Street and BlackRock vote the way they do for long term profits. “I don’t know how they break from the pack enough to differentiate on the performance front,” Bathon said, noting that while there may be a population that is passionate about their cause, that may not translate to investment. “The interests of the underlying shareholder and the firms like BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard aren’t nearly as disconnected as I think some may have you believe.”
