Firms like SS&C that have completed a significant number of acquisitions should “periodically step back” and assess their organizational structure, “as they tend to get out of sync or [become] suboptimal,” says Neil Bathon, managing partner at Fuse Research Network. “When you streamline your business units, there is always overlap, which results in fewer seats at the table.”
