The asset manager has partnered with SmartLeaf to launch a menu of 37 models with direct indexing and customization options as it seeks to differentiate itself in a crowded marketplace. “Thirty-seven portfolios seems like a lot to be offering out there, but it is sort of a way to provide options without being singular,” said Craig Kilgallen, director of relationship development at FUSE Research Network. “Rather than having a single, individualized portfolio for everybody, you’ve got all these options. You can kind of slide your clients into the strategy that best fits them. I think[Principal has] seen where the market is going.”
