The role of the internal wholesaler has changed significantly in recent years, prompting some firms to reassess those workers’ core functions. Industrywide, the proportion of fund companies planning to hire hybrid wholesalers dropped to its lowest level since 2019, according to data from FUSE Research. “Hiring plans will shift when firms determine how they will restructure all their wholesaler resources,” said Michael Evans, director of BenchMark Research at FUSE Research.
