Fidelity to roll out managed accounts platform for custody clients

The trend of distributors expanding their UMA platforms is encouraging fund shops to offer their strategies in a full range of vehicles to reach as many different types of investors as possible, Patrick Newcomb, director of BenchMark Research at Fuse Research Network, previously told Fund Intelligence. Some asset managers are tailoring their offerings to platforms like Morgan Stanley’s MAPs, crafting model-driven SMAs rather than developing in-house model portfolios of mutual funds and/or ETFs, he added.
