Benchmark Breakups Climbed 32% This Year

Portfolio managers mainly change benchmarks to find indexes that better align with a fund’s strategy, said Sam Campbell, partner at FUSE Research Network. Nearly 60% of the changes so far this year were linked to strategy changes by management, according to his review of the data compiled from supplemental filings.
